WELCOME TO 4th GRADE!!!

Welcome Families! I'm Mrs. Pitts, and I am so excited to be your teacher this year! We are going to have so much fun learning! This blog is where you can find weekly homework, updates, links to the school website, Khan Academy, Accelerated Reader and much more. I am hoping that you check out our site frequently to see what is happening in our classroom.

A little bit about me. My name is Monica Pitts. I live in Aptos with my husband Matthew. We have 3 daughters. Our twins are Madelyn and Emma. They are 7 years old and will be in 2nd grade at TLCS this year. Our youngest daughter is Evelyn who is 4 years old and attends CEC preschool on campus. This will be my third year teaching at Twin Lakes but my 15th year in the teaching profession. I enjoy doing art, sports, being outside and spending time with my family. I love to read Harry Potter and be creative. I absolutely LOVE being a teacher. I am so blessed to teach in our fabulous building with such a supportive staff/family.

My partner teacher, Mrs. Besk and I work really closely together to make learning fun for our students and our teaching as consistent as possible. We will start the year by reading the book, "Wonder" to our classes. We are inviting you to choose kind with us as one of our 4th-grade themes. We will focus on this theme throughout the year.

I hope to see you at, "Meet the Teacher," on Tuesday, August 20th. Classroom Visitation and New Parent orientation from 1-2:30, Ice Cream Social from 2:30-3:00. I will be waiting to meet you on the top floor of our building in our classroom!!

Love,

Mrs. Pitts
