Music Newsletter

Dear Family,

What an exciting, musical school year that is in store for your Fourth Grader! This year your child will continue to learn more about music and will develop skills and concepts to form the foundation for a lifetime of musical enjoyment. In the first quarter, your child will be focusing on the concepts of rhythm, beat, and melody through our main idea - Songs You Need to Know! We will be learning a variety of Classic Songs, Patriotic Songs and Worship Songs that every child needs to know. As we learn new concepts and new songs we will be asking the question Why Music? My hope is that your child will be able to answer this question as we discover the gift of music that God created for us to enjoy! I am here to help you help your child explore more about music. Thank you for your assistance this school year, whether it be at home, at school or both. I encourage you to ask your child what songs he or she is learning, and see if they can teach you something! With your help, I know we can create a musical learning experience for your child that will enrich his or her life for years to come.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Cutler,
TLC Music teacher
